Studying Ivan Pavlov, Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, John Watson, William James, Jean Piaget, Wilhelm Wundt, Carl Rogers, Eric Erickson, Abraham Maslaw, Charles Darwin, & B. F. Skinner *(Pioneers of Psychology),* behavior is learned & enforced throughout generations. Biblically speaking, the phenomenon of learned behavior & its enforcement throughout the ages characterizes what is known as a *generational curse.* Despite the undisputed fact that people are unique & experience their environment differently, and are more adept than all earthly species, sadly, behaviors don't change very much.
What does this mean? Actors/enforcers and participants in a learned and transcended destructive behavior demonstrate a lack of appreciation for human beings' God-given uniqueness and talents *(Swahili-talanta).* Thus, such people are increasingly prone to repeat/duplicate behavioral mistakes. In contrast, generational behavior actors/enforcers and participants become victims of their environment and circumstances, significantly different from the architects of the learned and transcended behavior.
Hence, yet, influential actors continue to enforce destructive behaviors they learned throughout generations than critically and independently evaluate the current environment. Awareness of one's environment, coupled with a higher degree of independence, equips one to think critically and apply the necessary resources/tools to address lingering problems.
As adept beings, we appreciate the necessary changes for optimal progress. That is, both destructive and transcended behavior actors/enforces and participants demonstrate a *willful* lack of independence, skills, and inner drive to embrace changes that meet lingering societal problems. Wisemen said that "misery loves company." Does'nt it?
Biblically speaking, we are guided by Matthew 7:7-8 teachings that "ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh. findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." Therefore, to foster an optimal life, one must ask, learn and seek to avoid destructive behaviors by adopting new good behaviors based on his/her environment and given resources/tools. Go Figure!
