Behaviors are learned. Teaching and becoming good role models to children instill desired behaviors such as love, kindness, caring, tentativeness, truthfulness....etc.c. Or, others will teach kids, and chances are one may not like the outcome.
👆🏽If one investigates this assertion, in one's upbringing can correlate with the tenets of one's acts/behaviors. Especially when focusing on one's childhood entering young adulthood because children are malleable, thus, vulnerable to manipulative/deceptive molding and indoctrination.
As the scripture teaches, *"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."* Proverbs. 22:6.
Matthew 18:5-6 “And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me. But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to have a large millstone tied around your neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea.”
Proverbs 23:13-14 Do not hesitate to discipline a child. If you spank him, he will not die. Spank him yourself, and you will save his soul from hell.
Deuteronomy 4:9-10 “But watch out! Be careful never to forget what you yourself have seen. Do not let these memories escape from your mind as long as you live! And be sure to pass them on to your children and grandchildren. Never forget the day when you stood before the Lord your God at Mount Sinai, where he told me, Summon the people before me, and I will personally instruct them. Then they will learn to fear me as long as they live, and they will teach their children to fear me also.”
Proverbs 22:15 A child’s heart has a tendency to do wrong, but the rod of discipline removes it far away from him.
Deuteronomy 11:19 Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.
Proverbs 29:17 Discipline your child, and he will give you rest; he will bring you happiness.
Colossians 3:21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
Ephesians 6:4 Parents, do not anger your children, but rear them in the discipline and in the teaching of Our Lord.
Lastly, God Jehovah attests to us in Psalm 78:2-4" for I will speak to you in a parable. I will teach you hidden lessons from our past— stories we have heard and known, stories our ancestors handed down to us. We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about his power and his mighty wonders."
Therefore, we learned that behaviors are learned. Thus, we ought to teach and be good role models to the children. Hence, children learn to hate or love behaviors from the people close to them, in which home and family are the primary institutions. It takes two to tango, so let's all take part in our ways to teach and role-model kids in our homes, family, and community. Be blessed, and Go Figure!
